Based and residing in the wonderful country of Australia, I was born and raised in Colombia, South America, in Manizales, the capital of the coffee-growing region.
Hello, I am MIGUEL DUQUE CRUZ, I am an artist and industrial designer. Through the fusion of these two professions I have been able to form an artistic alchemy; the mixture of landscapes and characters painted on canvas for over 30 years, are now again accompanied with small painted figurines that give the sensation of having stepped out of my paintings and become their own spectators. The figurines change, move and come to life when touched by the light.

My paintings depict clouds, sunrises, sunsets, and incredible storms. They are influenced by the impressionist, expressionism, and surrealist art movements. Australia's marvels, from Adelaide's hills to the settings surrounding a perfect blue sea, inspire me today. My inspiration comes from landscapes where coffee is grown as well as from tall mountains that rise and flow into beaches and the Caribbean Sea. The appeal of these works of art is that they allow you, the observer, to create your own imaginative story. These tiny artworks are all storytellers. These work great as triptychs as well..
